The governance of the University Executive Council (or known as Majlis Eksekutif Universiti-MEU) was formed to ensure that the university’s policies, and strategic direction are governed and administered efficiently under the leadership of a Vice-Chancellor. MEU is the highest management of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and it is made up of 9 permanent members and 3 non-permanent members as shown below. All MEU members play an important role as per Act 173 - Universiti Teknologi MARA, with the Vice-Chancellor being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the University under Section 20. MEU serves as a command and control system for the university's operations within the UiTM system. The MEU is responsible for approving, recommending, and certifying applications for activities, project proposals, and university administration and management matters. The present University Executive Council (MEU), formerly known as the UiTM Executive Committee (JKE), was established in September 2015 to strengthen the governance of 1UiTM: The multi-system.  MEU responsibilities were expanded simultaneously as an advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and were responsible for regulating matters relating to the university's safety and well-being, corporate and international affairs, student and academic development, religious and cross-cultural matters, integrity issues, national and global agenda, quality assurance, research and innovation, entrepreneurship initiatives, engagement and network, infrastructure and digital campus, as well as talent, administrative and financial affairs.
