The University Executive Council (or more commonly known as Majlis Eksekutif Universiti (MEU)) was formed to ensure that the University’s policies and strategic direction are governed and administered efficiently under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor.

MEU is the highest level of management in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and is made up of 9 permanent members and 3 co-opted members as shown below. All MEU members play an important role as dictated by Act 173 of Universiti Teknologi MARA, whereby the Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer of the University under Section 20. MEU serves as a command and control system for the university's operations within the UiTM. It is responsible for approving, recommending, and certifying applications for activities, project proposals, and university administration and management matters.

The present University Executive Council (MEU), formerly known as the UiTM Executive Committee (JKE), was established in September 2015 to strengthen the governance of '1 UiTM: Multi-System'.  The responsibilities of MEU have since expanded, simultaneously functioning as advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and being responsible for regulating matters relating to the university's safety and well-being, corporate and international affairs, student and academic development, religious and cross-cultural matters, integrity issues, national and global agenda, quality assurance, research and innovation, entrepreneurship initiatives, engagement and network, infrastructure and digital campus, as well as talent, administrative and financial affairs.
